"all wise men are intelligent but not all intelligent men are wise"
"the are two candidates for the promotion of senior manager. mr. A who served the company for 8 years versus the 2 year service of mr. B. B is far more advance than mr. A. the 33 year old mr. A served the company with passion and dedication while mr. B, 23 years old, works with the advance know how."
if you are to choose between the two of them, to whom will you give the promotion?
let us presume that the above aspects made them differ from each other.
this was the situation that our MANAGEMENT 101 professor gave us before. i was not listening to her class because im busy doing my homework in ACCOUNTING which was my next subject. im almost done when i heard my named echoed in the classroom. so i immediately stood up and said, "yeah?" my teacher humiliated me that time and uttered phrases which i didn't mind, all i could remember is, she saying "i saw you making your assignment in other subject and not paying attention into my class." so she repeated the question and my classmates were so silent, almost all of them were staring at me, the fear in their eyes were so vivid that some of my best pals were afraid that i wont be able to answer the question.
way back before that semester began, MS. CRUZ is a known terror instructor and does not give any mercy, if you fail, you fail. our section felt unlucky when the dean announced that she'll handle management 101 on all first year students.
now, my beast pal seating besides me tries to whisper something that i can't understand. Ms. CRUZ again uttered the question, and added "mr. the question was long enough and it will consume this remaining time if im going to tell it to you for the third time."
my answer: (in total silence with my classmates)
okay ms. CRUZ, no need to repeat the question. if you are going to be asked MS. CRUZ, between you and the HEAD of our department, who do you think between you should be the next DEAN? (she was trying to interrupt) in fairness to the HEAD, if im going to choose between you two, id chose the HEAD rather than you, why? because seniority should prevail, regardless of how old the person is or how obsolete he is, he should still remain as the priority in holding the position. there is only one factor that should be considered in choosing the next manager in. LOYALTY, through this, love and passion will prevail. now if there is love, WISDOM, passion and dedication to work, then that person no matter how obsolete or how old he is, as long as he is capable of doing the same task or higher, he still has the willingness and the capabilities to meet the advancements that the younger candidate has. another, thing, a person should consider the virtue of PATIENCE, because if it is really for him prove to the company your loyalty be serving more than the years that you have been considered a threat by the other people and bare in his mind that all wise men are intelligent and not all intelligent men are wise.
actually, until now, for me, SENIORITY still prevails, regardless of the minimal expertise on advancements, loyalty and dedication for work will still prevail, how will we be able to measure the dedication? simple, through the number of years that person dedicated his service to the company, his relationship with his co-workers and most of all he is capable of handling the next position.
my classmates applauded after saying "that's all ms. CRUZ" and she said, well done. my seatmate punched me hilariously and told me that he did not expected it, but it was awesome. well, all i did was, sat on my chair and finished my accounting homework.
