THEM

0
i went to TOLOSA, LEYTE last december for a subject to hunt. in cooperation with an NGO, i coordinated with MANA BEKAY and we searched for the most outstanding family in the most depressing situation.

2 families were interviewed before we found the most unfortunate ones.

i was affiliated before with a Non-Government Organization which provides the LOCAL HEALTH CENTERS half-priced medicine as part of the NATIONWIDE LOW-PRICED MEDICINE PROGRAM.

i have encountered different types of individuals from MAYORS, PRIESTS, COUNCILORS and even the poor people. we cater them generic medicines with the approved label from some GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS that handles food and drugs for the safety of it's users.

the christmas rush and the colorful decorations will meet you on the streets every after travel that we had, the songs of joy and the laughters of the kids embraces the downtown area, with their moms and dads busy for the christmas rush everytime we went to the city from the office to buy supplies and goodies for our upcoming party.

our team leader asked a favor from me to have a visit to TOLOSA, LEYTE (the third town after TACLOBAN CITY) and look for a beneficiary to avail a support from a FRENCH ORGANIZATION who wishes to help the poor people of LEYTE. so i went to TOLOSA.

MANA BEKAY, our operator in TOLOSA, assisted me to look for a qualified beneficiary. and we found 2 families in a very hard situation.

this aint a photoshop nor actors and actresses who poses for an art exhibit, but they are real people in a situation that even our team LEADER could not believe they exists

family A, (i decided to protect their clans). FATHER: 52 years old, fisherman, grade 6; WIFE: 42 years old, housewife, high school graduate, has tuberculosis; KIDS: 4 (eldest 10 years old and the youngest is 6 months) none of them goes to school. they live in a house that you cant believe you could have a nice sweet sleep inside. the odor of an uncleaned house, spoiled foods, piggery and the kid's wastes embraces the surroundings.

i felt sad when she told me that she has tuberculosis but then the kids is continuously interacting with her, they even share utensils when they eat. her husband went to fishing when i interviewed them and when i asked them how much do they earn? the woman answered me that they're lucky if her husband could have a nice catch and sells it to the market. and the income is they're source for rice good for a day consumption only. the next day, another luck is waiting for them may it be good or bad. the woman got teary eyes when she told us that she cannot lend a help on her husband due to her health problems. she cant even buy medicines for herself but then prioritizes foods for the kids.
