HELP THEM

5

"what can we do?"

as a continuation on the issue of about the solvent kids, we have identified several actions regarding this matter.

the local social welfare department of the has different programs regarding the rehabilitation of this kids. some kids were brought to the rehab center and taught of some remedies on how to prevent the use of the materials that will just ruin their lives.

out of 10 kids who were brought to this centers, only 3-4 got rehabilitated while the remaining 6 opts to use abusive materials again. the worse scenario is that when they learn to use higher dosage of drugs.

the local government provide centers for these kids but has less budget.

some NON-GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS lends help also. foreign groups finances these NGOs and brings here their force and serves the advocacy on helping kids to face a brighter future.

above mentioned are the visible organizations and department that provides the necessary actions on helping the FILIPINO streetkid/solvent boys to see what the world still has for them. they provide programs that will help the kids earn confidence on facing the world after being rehabilitated. they do different activities like parties, livelihood programs and some were workshops for some talented kids. some were even provided with scholarship grants.

but when will it end? as long as the world continues celebrate day and night, years to come, or presidents to sit. this problem is unending. it may continuously exist and grow bigger and bigger.

PROGRAMS from the LOCAL GOVERNMENT and THE NGOs were the so-called DESPERATE MOVES. the government has no choice but to provide their last option to minimize this case however expensive it may be.

this is one of the problem that the whole world is facing right now.

what can we do? this is part of our (as a human being) SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES. the only cure to this is the affection. love and care that we need to spread to every one.

to the:

PARENTS: biological or guardians, show your kids the responsibilities you dared to accept on bringing them out to the earth. find a way to provide them the things they need. they have to be in school and learn there the basics of life and the fundamentals on reading and writing. show them affection and care, treat them well and do not let them feel the depressions or the hardships you are going through. find a way to give them everything they need. talk to them, ask them if they have problems. trust them in any ways. allow them to practice good conducts and righteous manners. encourage them to pursue their dreams. and most of all LOVE them.

TEACHERS: treat the kids as you own, give them proper attention (some kids has problems in school because some teachers were acting like kids and provides irrelevant justice to kid who commits errors). learn your mistakes, teachers could be wrong in some other ways. respect the kids the way they do to you. show them your affection. do not limit your profession in the four corners of the classroom, extend it on every corners of the street.

ORGANIZATIONS: NGO in particular, do you think that providing them the food and entertainment could ease the burdens in them? yes, they may forget the problems for a while but when they went out of the activity center, they will be awaken by the unjust situation of the society. do not tolerate them to receive foods from you because it's their parent's responsibilities. rather, gather the parents and teach them programs to uplift their lives. provide them proper knowledge on how to communicate with their kids. assess them on proper parenting. let them realize the responsibilities they dared. allow them to talk and open up their sentiments.

GOVERNMENT: this should have the least responsibility with regards to proper child-raising. but has the massive weight on providing every family their needs as a social responsibility of the LOCAL GOVERNMENT. provide each struggling PROPER SHELTER and PROPER SOURCE of LIVING. educate them to uplift their lives. allow them to talk with you and hear their sentiments. let them complain. catch the tears that falls from their eyes. receive the bad words they utter heartily and wear their shoes. be compassionate to them, sympathize with them. show them a picture of a brighter tomorrow. and please don't abuse them. don't laugh at them. make them they exist.

SADLY, in the midst of this national election 2010, some of the candidates uses the less fortunate people to promote themselves. they promised land, scholarships, jobs, etc on every talents they hired (the streetkids and the poor families) in exchange of them to be shown in the television and tells the whole wide world THEY ARE POOR. although they have consent on the ads, isn't it on the reverse side a FLOP on that candidate's part?

Using poor people for campaign ads is a very depressing strategy. do they really need to be the state's president to ease this problem? or it's just an obvious PERSONAL AGENDA?

the kids are the ones who are really affected, their innocence is abused, their young bodies faced the heavy current of the worlds problem, and unfortunately found their solutions to self destruction!
